The oil's Triple Protection Plus technology offers enhanced protection against wear, deposits, and oil breakdown, while also improving low-temperature flow compared to conventional 15W-40 oils. This helps control engine deposits, ensuring reliability even at extended oil drain intervals, as long as the OEM's recommended oil drain interval is followed.

Compared to the maximum wear requirements in API CK-4 engine wear tests, Shell Rotella T5 15W-40 Synthetic Blend provides an average of 37% better wear protection. The improved oxidation performance also increases the oil's resistance to breakdown under high temperatures, compared to the previous formulation.
